Topbox query.

Post by milleplod »

I've just fitted, for the first time, my small (28ltr?) BMW topbox to the RT - I'd previously used it a lot on my 1200ST. There seems to be some 'play' once fitted, a slight side-to-side movement that was never there when on the ST. I can't see that there's anything that might be worn on the RT's mounting plate, and I don't think its going to come off! - anyone else got this? Any observations at all?

I wouldn't worry about it. My 49-litre top-box has some play.

Just shim it with some tape/rubber bumps stops/WHY - otherwise it will rattle over bumps and drive you nuts.

Hi,

Try put some strong tape over the foam to hold it in place.

I've just found some 1/2" Gorilla tape in the garage - should do nicely!
