Galaxy S7 Mount & Charge - What should I consider

Post by JC-RT »

I am needing a mount and charger for my smart phone (currently a Galaxy S7).  This will mount to a 2015 RT.  What would you suggest?

I've used both on my 2015 R1200 RT.  Both work well, it just depends on how you want to mount the device and your budget

With regard to charging your phone, I use a USB plug-in to the BMW power outlet and then run my phone charger wire from the device to my phone as I ride.  Here's what you want:  http://www.powerlet.com/product/powerlet-plug-to-dual-usb-adapter-21a/698

I'm a fan of the Perfect Squeeze phone mount.  The tightening screw is secured with a ball detent so it won't vibrate loose.

For charging I'd suggest running a USB cable from the USB connection in the dash pocket, to the phone.

For attaching to the bike, I'm using the RAM mount 3.5" suction cup mount and the short RAM arm.  You can also go with the mount that replaces the back of the level clamp but I like my phone to be centered.
