R1200RT LC Screen

Post by guest2383 »

Gentlemen
Basic question I know, but I am working offshore and unable to access the bike at the moment.
Does anyone know the screen retaining screw sizes (thread and length) please. These are the ones on the outside that hold the covers on.
I think they are M6 x 20mm but not certain.
Many thanks in advance.

No. 05, M5x20, http://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/showpar ... Id=46_1604

Here's some nice stainless steel ones from Stig Fasteners, https://www.a2stainless.co.uk/M5-x-20-S ... _ADV4.aspx

Plus washers, https://www.a2stainless.co.uk/M5-Washer ... A1A44.aspx to make up the correct 12.0mm OD of the OEM Torx screw.

Hi David, I use a lot of these M5 Stainless Steel button head screws in my daily work. I really would advise NOT to use these. It is worth paying the extra and getting the OEM parts.
The Hex rounds off very easily and moreover adding the washer is just an unnecessary hassle when the OEM Torx screw is so nicely made.

Thanks guys - what I want to do is to make my own GoPro bracket similar to the Wunderlich one, which as it costs £79 over here and I am not prepared to pay that!

Piece of aluminium cut and shaped to the correct angle and sizes, two plastic spacers and longer torx screws and should be about £7 - Happy days!
