I thought this might be worth posting up for the group if anyone is considering undertaking the scheduled maintenance on their own bike. We filmed this over 2 days in October at the end of the riding season (for me!). I had my ridding buddy (BoxFlyer) on the wrenches while i filmed.
Its long! which was our intention. Many folks may have already done this service, but some may prefer to let the dealership do it. We followed the service manual and Brad, (who has done this 6 times already),added a few other checks in.

I have just finished viewing the series.
1st class !
I do this maintenance on my bike, but without all the BMW tools.
I will now buy them as you have shown me how to use them. The tips are fantastic.
Thank you so much, for your effort to produce these.
I almost feel ashamed to use them as you have posted them for free.

Thanks for these videos, will be helpful to those of us who prefer to do their own maintenance. Hope you don't mind the following observations.
1. The 12000 mile Maintenance Schedule doesn't include a Brake Fluid Flush (After the first year and every two years after)
2. The Maintenance Schedule does not include the requirement to remove the rear wheel and partially dismantle the final drive and clean/lube the shaft and rubber boot. Good preventative maintenance but not actually called for.
3. The final drive oil can be changed with the drive and wheel in place. Why was the speed sensor removed?
4. As an Aircraft Engineer myself I'd caution against using a screwdriver bit in an electric drill. Yes it can speed up the job but it can also round off a lot of fasteners in the wrong hands! I prefer to use a Snap-On ratchet screwdriver.
Just my observations, thanks for taking the time to do the videos.

My thanks to Kiki and Boxflyer for the excellent video.
It was useful for me to read before servicing my bikes. I have a 1200RT and a 1200 GS.
When lubricating my splines on my 2014 RT the splines were rusted solid and it took a lot of persuasion to part them. Its definitely worth doing.
Both my bikes had a full service history but won't see a dealer again until they leave me.
