Hi
I wonder if anyone can help me- a 2011 rt-p this only happens when the bike is hot, if i leave it overnight when I turn the key the proper lights appear it starts and all is well. I thought it was the starter button hot issue so used a jump wire over the relay, engine turns but no spark. Any ideas why the full lights and gauges do not show and it nothing when I hit the start switch? thanks.

It may be something completely different but on a pervious RT I had something like that, it turned out the battery was faulty and needed changing.

Thanks for the suggestion, it is a new gel battery which we have already tested, do these bikes have a built in immobiliser? As that might stop the full ignition circuit lighting up. Been back to the bike after 24 hours still no joy so maybe it is not heat related.
Re: Ignition on, no fuel leve,l no temp, no warning lights and wont start-
The other day, I happened exactly the same.
After shooting, I left the bike in the sun, when I went to leave, the contact turned on, but the gasoline did not mark and the start did not work.
As it did not start, I put it under the shadow waiting for assistance.
Meanwhile, I changed the keys, disconnected the battery, the ring antenna and everything the same.
Finally, after 15 minutes the motorcycle starts.
At 2 days the same.
At home, patiently, I pulled out the antenna connector and tried it.
The bike marks gasoline and the signal that the key does not find it, so I discard the ring antenna.
I also connect it to the GS-911, the only fault it gives me is a CAN-Bus error, but it says it is not present.
Now I hope to take it to the workshop to see what can happen.

Re: Ignition on, no fuel leve,l no temp, no warning lights and wont start-
Thanks -I left the bike overnight with the key on the yolk but not in in, still no fuel showing. Moved the key away from the bike the next morning, all burst into life, so I think this is an immobiliser ring issue. Will quiz motorad tomorrow
Re: Ignition on, no fuel leve,l no temp, no warning lights and wont start-
There was an issue with the ring in the lock barrel recognising keys. Believe some were changed under warranty. On our 07 Rtp it failed to start last weekend, same symptoms as yours, but it did show an EWS warning message on the screen, which is the warning when there is an issue with the ring. Reading up, apparently interference can also cause comms issues between the key and the ring. It eventually started and there hasn't been an issue since.

So a new start/kill switch has now been installed, supplied and fitted by BMW for a reasonable £220, hopefully all sorted
