Hi i am looking at a set of engine crashbars for my 2018 RTLE , anyone on this site had any experience with "HEED" bars , reading some letters from members about various companies i am concerned that they do not size up to dropping the bike (hoping that this never happens) cheers .

Bought them for my 1250LE few weeks ago. More about them plus pictures here :viewtopic.php?p=47531#p47531
There is a bit more in that topic about general crash bars.

I've got Illium bars on my 1250, if you go to their website, the owner has a video of dropping his own bike with the bars fitted, so they do work. Bonus for me, was the rears come off easily, so when I park my bike in the garage I can take them off for more space.

I installed Ilium front and rear bars along with their highway pegs on my 17 RT last weekend. Took about 90 minutes and great fit and finish. Highly recommended.

I bought the Heed bars for my 2012 K1600GTL, both front and rear, and I really liked them. Well built. Bike went over on the left side from some wind at a parking lot and no harm done to the bike at all, small scratch on the rear bar.  I've just purchased a 2013 1200RT and liked the Heed's so much that I've ordered the rear guards.  I'd like to add some hwy bars to the front guards so I'm trying to decide which brand would accommodate them.

Fitted Heed rear crash bars this weekend. Only cost £137. Quality as good as my Wunderlich fronts, a lot better VFM and everything lined up very well (unlike the Wunderlichs).

If ground clearance is important to you, you may want to reconsider the Heed's.  I had to remove mine as the risk was just to much.
