Exhaust header nut torque

Post by gogs01 »

I have a 2017MY R1200RT LE registered in November 2016.

It has done 35,000 miles and the exhaust pipes were not as clean and shiny as I would like.

I've removed the whole system and got it looking better, I even managed to put it all back together !

The one concern I have is that I couldn't find a figure for the torque for the nuts securing the header pipes to the cylinder head.

Can anyone tell me what the torque figure is, or direct me to where I can find it ? They were surprisingly easy to undo, so I'm guessing the figure will be fairly low !  ;D

Found these figures for a Wethead R1200LC GS/GSA, http://www.jimvonbaden.com/Wethead%20Torques%204.pdf

It's about the Ride! For those who have experienced the joy, no explanation is necessary: for those who haven't, no explanation is possible.

It's from the workshop CD-ROM by the look of it.

Yes, you're probably right - thanks.  :)
I re-checked my Rider's Manual thinking I might have missed it in there, but no.
The CD-ROM is available on eBay, but my MacBook Air doesn't have a CD drive.  I would buy a Haynes Manual but it seems to be more concerned with the GS (same exhaust header nuts, I know, but I would prefer something RT specific).
