Hi guys
Just wondering if anyone else has had any issues with the tire pressure sensors on there bike, I used to always find that after riding roughly 100mts or so that the pressures showed up on the screen but I now am finding that I can ride 3 to 5 Kim’s before it shows up, wondering if I may have crook sensors

My sensor failed and was replaced by dealer under warranty.  It would show up then disappear read - -

I assume we're talking about OE sensors on a R1200RT.  What year, I wonder ?

I've had the BMW tyre pressure sensors on my RTs and have never had any issues with them over several years and many thousands of miles.  They do however have internal batteries which have a finite lifespan.

I added a DORAN TPMS to my Honda NT700 several years ago and had issues with them starting after a year.  Paid to replace them once and the issue returned another year later.  DORAN eventually provided a full refund and subsequently stopped selling them.  I appreciate the TPMS is already in my 1200RT, but worry that the issue may be industry-wide.  I'm assuming I'll need to replace them at least a couple years out, but since mine is a 2017 (with less than 1000 miles) it will still likely need to be switched out in another year or so.  I have the extended warranty through the end of 2021, so I'm assuming it'll be covered if it comes up before then.

I had it into my local BMW dealer yesterday & it had logged a fault on the front sensor but nothing on the rear, fault was communication error, they have sent a puma to BMW to see if it will be replaced under extended warranty, they do also advise that they rely on battery to run & that history tells them the batteries are good for about 5 yrs, at $300 AUD EACH + $70 labour to fit  I will be buying a good tire pressure gauge & checking before every ride

If its a fault its not battery its a fault and should be covered depending on warranty
