Replacing the windshield's upper swing arms
Just a couple of tips, having had two break on me. First, Beemer Boneyard has a more substantial, and cheaper replacement which I can recommend, especially if you have a taller/wider aftermarket screen which occasions great stress on these parts. Second, there is no need to go to the laborious removal of the upper part of the fairing to install the lower attachment of the arm (which has the tensioner spring). Simply unscrewing he two small screws permits you to pull the fairing sufficient back to expose the area. Third, be sure to remove the press-in black spacers from the upper mount of the arm, since they prevent lateral movement of the screen on the peg, and I'm sure they're expensive for such a small part. I almost forgot about them, which would have meant undoing all the work to install them. Lastly, stuff a bunch of padding around the mounts when removing the little circlips or else they'll pop off into the fairing, never to be found.
