2012 Camhead using Dunlop RoadSmart tyres.

Lightweight solo rider, mainly used for day trips/weekends away in the UK.

Riding "progressively", returning 5,000 to 5,500 miles.

The tyres are changed well before they become illegal, after the ride is no longer compliant.

11k miles out of my last set of Michelin Pr4's (non GT).. I'm on a set of PR4 Gt's now and currently at 4k with only slight signs of wear. My GS is in for Michelin Road 5's tomorrow after almost wearing the Anakee's out at 6.5k. I'm usually happy with anything above 9k miles out of a set of tyres, anything less and I'll be looking for a change.
The GS 'is' the better bike :-)

ok, I guess 9,000 miles isn't too bad then

although at £250 for two tyres supplied and fitted...it's not cheap motoring!

No real idea, when they get down to around 2mm or starting to cup or they feel off I change them. But I would think around 6k for PR4GTs, got Z8s on my 1250 and I have around 4k so far and they still look pretty good, so who knows :)

My old R100RS with pram wheels which we toured and more often rode two up, only lasted 2000miles so your all doing well. They were soft Dunlops.

On all my different types of bikes, I've always gotten between 5-6k miles.  Everyday use, a lot of touring, no crazy riding and acceleration except in the twisties (but the sides don't wear out, only the center).

It depends on what you consider “worn out.” For me, once a tire cups, gets squared off, or loses its profile, it’s replaced, regardless of how much tread is remaining. This is typically within 5000-6000 miles.

On the other hand, I know folks who wouldn’t consider replacing a tire until the tread is gone and the cords start showing (no MOT concerns here in the U.S.)

I’m running T30’s on my F800GT and have been very impressed so far.

Mostly circa 5,000 miles on PR4GTs/Roadtec01s, ride one up progressively and two up slightly less progressively :-) touring, Peter

I ride almost always two up, normal weights, not that aggressive a rider and I have gotten 11k out of both sets of stock Michelin PT4's. But I ride them until they fight me in the corners, so pretty cupped and bald. Just had a set of PT5's put on. It's always a shock and fun (after the shock wears off) to ride on new tires!

Usually around 8k for me on PR4GTs.  First set of PR5GTs in at the moment and they still look good at about 4k.  I use them until they go a funny shape or feel bad, because then the fun is less.  That's usually before they are down to the limit.
