I’m on my fourth battery in my FOB since May. Key missing display comes on then off. Range of FOB decreases. Dealer says I’m using the wrong brand of battery. Any others having problem?

Nope, same battery for the last year and a half on my 1250 keyless, all good. On my 2014 only changed the battery in the fob (that wasn't keyless) once until I traded it in 2019

Maybe a short in the fob. Have you tried your spare.

I would look at where you are keeping the fob, perhaps one of the buttons is being pressed inadvertently in a pocket etc.

It is either in my tank bag or where it is kept off the bike.

What brand of battery are you using.

Another possibility is moisture on the circuit board, wreaks havoc and can short circuit due to corrosion.
Has it got damp at any time.

Some one had the problem,
Apparently the range of Convenient Access is greater than the manual says, and the desk where we keep our keys is about ten yards from the car in the garage. Since the fob responds to the car signal by transmitting, ten yards must be close enough for them to constantly communicate, and thus drain the battery. Problem solved!

Or keep your keys in an IF pouch, think I got two off eBay for around £3 also stops scammers reading the key whilst its in your house

I would want to rule out any damage to the fob. If you take out the battery and use the spare and thats ok you know there is a fault.

No problem on my 2016 , changed battery 2 times and used different makes.
CR 2023. You must have a snag on the FOB.

CR 2023. You must have a snag on the FOB or your key is too close to the bike when parked for the night.

I had the same or similar issue with my 15 keyless, new battery every month. I had bought some cheap batteries on amazon, weren’t worth a darn. Switched to Panasonic and problem went away
