During my last 2 rides the SOS warning has appeared on the dash and disappeared again within a minute or so. On both occasions I was riding and did not stop to reset the ignition. I have received no phone calls from BMW emergency services, I have not dropped the bike or used emergency braking on either ride.
Has anyone else had this experience and is anyone able to explain what is going on please?

Clearly the best place to have an emergency is in a densely populated area with good cell coverage.

Oddly enough I used to get this warning frequently on my GSA, now it’s a very rare occasion (riding along the same routes as before).
Maybe the RT has better reception.

Never seen the warning in a year and a half, mine probably isn't working at all
