Well changed my 2018 RT FOR A 2019 1250RT got the insurance changed to pick it up , at the time i did not realise that the previous owner has had a Tracker fitted to the machine , ah ah i thought !!!! a reduction in my insurance surely ? rings up and they state they will have to check on this , gave them the name of the Tracker and behold ah sorry but because you already have the policy in place you will have to wait till your next qoute to get a reduction , then the best part !!!! if you take out a new policy now we will give you a £98.00 pound reduction from £200.00 to £108.00 what about the £200 i have already paid ? ah you lose that !!!! these people are con artists in the extreme .

Which tracker? When I asked about trackers, the reduction was minimal, certainly not £98

What do you think the reduction for a tracker would be? £10 perhaps. The only time to worry about insurance and trackers is if they won't insure you without one fitted. Dealing with insurance companies mid term is always a problem these days. They're only desperate for your custom at the start.

I've also recently (late October) changed from a 2018 R1200RT (factory alarm, but no tracker), to a new R1250RT, with factory-fit (actually DataTool) tracker. When changing insurance over to the new bike, my premium actually went up by about £100! >:( I too was hoping for reduction. I realise that the new bike is more valuable than my previous bike, but is essentially the same model and my 'risk profile' hasn't changed.
I'm with IAM Cornmarket insurance. They were expensive last year, but did price match down to a lower 'Meercat' quote. Seems like they're clawing their money back!

I recently changed bikes mid term (6 months to run on current policy) from a Triumph Sprint 1050 GT to a Twincam RT. Total cost for this Mid Term Adjustment was £8.71 (Eight Pounds and Seventy One Pence) and that included hard copies of all relevant docs posted to me.
Broker is Bikesure Elite, Underwriter is Ageas Insurance Services. Very happy with that !!.
