what is this from

Post by exportman »

Hi

Did my first service today ( until now its been with the BMW Stealer) but I found this loose under the riders seat  I think it a breather cap but don't know what its from/where it goes  looks new never used.  Not spotted it before  but then I had not taken all the plastics off before.

I think you could be right, looks like a breather from the final drive unit.

That was my thought but it was under the riders seat. Looks brand new too  Was planning to do the final drive oil change as well so will inspect closely tomorrow we undertaking this work.  The final drive was changed under warrantee about 18 months ago hopefully this is just one the engineer (parts fitter?) misplaced and there is one fitted.
