Avant Fender Extender - R1200RT (to 2013)

Post by David. »

Whilst searching for fender extenders, came across this bargain, https://www.nippynormans.com/machineart ... rt-to-2013

Although my 2012 Camhead already has a smaller alternative make/style fender extender fitted, at £19 with free delivery, decided to order one from NN.

Hopefully, the MaMo fender extender will cover the screw holes securing the existing one and give better protection to the engine & exhaust system.

They do give better protection to the front of the engine area and cross pipe, they're not perfect though, as they divert the water/crud at the downpipes and where the cross pipe joins them. Still much better than nothing and a vast improvement over the wunderlich one, which is pretty useless.
The GS 'is' the better bike :-)

The fender extender currently fitted to my 2012 Camhead is liklely to be one made by Pyramid, https://pyramid-plastics.co.uk/products ... 20Shopping

It was fitted by Allan Jefferies (BMW dealer) when I purchased the used RT from them. The length is similar to that of the MaMo Avant but not as wide.

Puig is another make, https://puig.tv/en/tuning-motos/mudguar ... bike=11630 they are Spanish with Pyramid being one of their UK Distributors.

The photos are exactly the same, I wonder if the Pyramid is the same product rebranded or different manufacture.

Avant Fender Extender fitted today. It's a nice piece of kit, the fixing arrangement is very clever. It nicely covers over the 4 off holes already drilled in the fender for the previous Pyramid offering. Looks a bit more agricultural than the Pyramid version but should give more protection which is kind of the idea.
