Is a rear mudguard extender worth having or just an ornament and somewhere to put a GB sticker, https://www.motorworks.co.uk/vlive/Shop ... Q=MUA94184
(Interesting, this Camhead has city lids fitted to the side cases).

Re: Rear Mudguard Extender
The Wethead & Shifthead RT mudguard extenders look like a well kept secret, http://carandrider.com/2015/05/25/free- ... -r1200rtw/
not even mentioned in the Rider's Manual.
However, they do seem to have a practical function in helping to keep the panniers, top case and fender cleaner than without,
or,
just the job for that nationality sticker.

Re: Rear Mudguard Extender
Worth having, it keeps a lot of crap off the back of the top box area. I made a mud flap/extender out of an old recycle bin lid which works well also.
The GS 'is' the better bike :-)

Re: Rear Mudguard Extender
On the Camhead or Hexhead, the mudguard extender is designed to be adjustable.
This photo shows the extender pulled down 1 or 2 notches.
IMO, when fully deployed, they look a bit naff, although do have a practical purpose.
Does anyone bother to adjust the amount of extention depending on the weather/road conditions.

Re: Rear Mudguard Extender
I just leave mind extended fully, all of the time. Anything that keeps the muck off (or reduces it) is a good thing, in my book. It only goes back up, when the rear wheel needs to come out.
