Can You Name Your Tyres ?.
Interesting conversation with a friend yesterday which stemmed from me having an un-repairable puncture on my car. I asked my friend "what tyres do you have on your car" to which he replied "couldn't tell you". Then I thought back to last August when I was looking around for a nice Twincam RT. One of the many "private" sale bikes I viewed had tyres which where new to me as I didn't recognise the tread pattern. When I asked what tyres they where I was surprised to hear "Dunno Mate, Black and Round" ?. I lost interest in that particular bike. Incidentally, after getting down on my knees I found out that the RT tyres where Conti Road Attack 3.

I know what make my car and bike tyres are, ‘cos I spend ages reading reviews and cross checking before making my choices... OCD or what!
For me the bike tyres are chosen for being the best for the job pretty much regardless of cost, but the car tyres just have to be OK as the car’s just a way to get me from A to B, nothing more.

I’m picky with the tires and fluids on my bikes, but on my car? Who knows? The dealer services my car and uses whatever he uses.

Re: Can You Name Your Tyres ?.
I know that the make of tyres on my car are Continental, would probably have to check on the sidewall for the exact type and size. Perhaps this is because I only need to know when it comes to changing them, they've now been on the car for 9 years.
Whereas, with the bike, the tyres may be changed as frequently as once a year or less.
If you buy a bike and haven't changed the tyres yourself, it could be understandable if you don't know the make. Although, when checking the condition & pressures, it might have come to your attention.
