From RS to RT

Hello everybody!
Today I went from a 1200RS to a 1250 RT. Loved the RS, but was starting to spend too much time looking at taller screens, bar risers, foot peg lowering etc.. just to get a bit comfort. Came across a beautiful white RT LE from 2018 with only 1600 miles on the clock (Only just 2018 mind, registered mid December)  .. Have to say that the handling even seems slightly better than the RS in the turns, can't put my finger on why.. and the engine seems to 'purr' more.. Also nice to see 330 miles available range when I fill it up.
Looking forward to some long summer rides..

The benefits of maturing is that one does not have to give a rat's arse about what other people think looks "cool".

I used to say to the VFR riders in my biking group that they also could have an RT when they grew up. Probably a bit harsh :) .

Good find Nick, I've recently changed across to a 2018 from a Pan... No regrets. Has it got all the 'necessary' add-ons?
Fender extender/ Garmin Nav/driving lights.. etc., etc., etc.  ;)

For add ins, it came with the Nav 6.  ( now I have 2! I kept the one off the RS.. so going on eBay soon) Also has the BMW trickle charger..
A fender extender sounds like a good idea.. any recommendations?

No particular recommendation but just be aware that the fender extenders are just about the only add on that is not compatible between the 1200 LC and the 1250 because of the belly pan

Avant fender extenders are nice pieces of kit, https://www.nippynormans.com/avant-exte ... 1-on-model

Yup, another fan here of the Avant fender extension.  Beautifully made and it is fit-and-forget without drilling the mudguard, and it does not wiggle or fall off.
Keeps the crud off the front engine case...

Jump in, the water's nice and warm....

I've never really understood the RS (no offense), but you get the ergos of a sport bike with the performance of a touring bike.  Now, I'm the first to admit that it is a great looking machine....it just seems to look much fast than it is I guess.

The XR is no looker, but hot-damn that thing is fast and comfy....
