This is the BMW parts diagram.

MotorWorks sell the upper (#5) and lower arms (part of #9),  the latter is not available separately from BMW.

Looks like only one lower arm is needed.

This video shows how to replace the upper arms, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VrHAGl3NUj8

Looks like the headlight panel will need to be removed to access the lower arms, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fu9TzwR4D1I

The upper, https://boxer-upgrades.webs.com/apps/we ... ow/3658072 and lower, https://boxer-upgrades.webs.com/apps/we ... ow/8199971 arms are available in stainless steel, with 15% discount on all four.

I've got the upper ones on my 2012 Camhead, supplied and fitted by a friendly RT owner.

That's a good deal, half the price of MotorWorks and all in stainless steel.

Will be interesting to see how long they take to arrive.

To all who have extra-wide screens, I'd recommend replacing at least the upper two with stainless steel arms.  I've lost two of the OEM's on my hexheads which broke just as yours did - at the narrowest point where it fixes to the screen, and it'd be dangerous if both failed at high speed.  They're made of what looks like cheap pot metal aluminum which a welder told me are unworkable.  Shameful the way BMW's cheaped out on this piece.

Have they changed these arms in later models?

I had a Cee Baileys screen on a 2007 Hexhead and 2010 Camhead, at speed, found that the downforce was so great that the motor wouldn't drive the screen up & down. Decided to ditch it and return to the stock OEM screen. Fortunately, when purchasing the Ztechnik for my 2012 Camhead, the nice man included and fitted the s/s upper arms too. I wonder if there is any correlation between aftermarket screen types and arm failures. Has anyone had an arm failure with a standard OEM screen fitted.

Did the OEM upper arms break with an aftermarket screen fitted, if so, which screen was it.

mine is a 2007 bike, i got it in 2016 with 35,000 miles on it.

i replaced the OEM screen with a bigger Cee Baileys one when i got the bike.

three of the screen support arms have just broke at 54,000 miles

a lot of the miles i have done have been at speeds of 60-80 mph with the screen about 30% raised

i have read on other forums that the screen arm failure is more common with aftermarket screens

this would make sense as a taller/wider screen would put more stress on the two upper support arms

my screen almost departed the bike at 70 mph when three of the arms broke!

i guess it also depends how far up you have then screen when riding, the higher it is, the more stress on the arms
