low seat conversion

Post by jweber »

Noob here.  Bought a 2009 R1200RT four days ago.

According to Free BMW VIN Decoder : ///M Decoder my bike has a "low seat" - can anyone describe what is needed to convert that to "regular seat" or "high seat" ??  I am 6'1".  A Corbin came with, but also an aftermarket two piece seat.  The Corbin is noticeably lower than the two piece front saddle which says Bill Mayer Saddles.  I seem to be missing some bits/parts according to the fiche on AS Cycles.

Any help based on previous exp would be most welcome.

Have you got a one piece seat and wish to return to the standard separate rider and pillion seats.

If so, this thread may be helpful, viewtopic.php?p=37991#p37991
