Further to the thread about Rear Wheel balancing has anyone had a Front Wheel valve changed (not just the Valve Core)

Haven't changed one myself but just looks like it's screw the old one out and screw the new one in.

Not done a BMW but did replace the rubber valves on a Pan 1300 ST for metal ones. Just need correct size and as David says screw them in. If you have another bike with rubber valves then do replace them with tyre changes or at least every two years. I did a tyre change for a neighbour a few years back and after getting the old tyre off and cleaning the wheel asked him how old the valves were. He didn't know, so I very gently bent the valve stem and it broke off. The rubber was perished. Imagine that happening at speed !

On a Camhead, the front wheel valve is as per the photo above, whilst the rear is of the rubber type.
When having the tyres changed, my tyre fitter always replaces the rear valve. On the most recent occasion, upon request, he also changed the valve core in the front.

Stripped the valve off a rear wheel when we had it powder coated. Once the tyre is off, the valve just unscrews, which leaves you with two bits that include the tams sensor.

This is rear wheel TPMS sensor/valve as fitted to a Camhead.
