Radio cut in and out

Got any questions about the BMW's R1200RT/R1250RT's onboard audio, Bluetooth or the Electrical system?

Radio cut in and out

Post by edwardgwright »

So I just bought a 2006 R 1200 RT, well the radio comes on and plays for about a minute then a speaker will fade out then the other and then no sound. Turn radio off and cut back on will play and do the same thing. Any ideas on how to correct this as well as adding blue tooth or a usb cable so that I can stream Pandora or maps though the radio. Any help would be great and thanks for letting me join the group!

I wonder if the radio has been changed and the fading in and out is part of component protection. The radio might need recoding to the bike at a BMW dealer.

I would ask the question re: Pandora and USB on the bmwsporttouring website.

A company called Crutchfield suppled 3.5mm stereo sockets that would fit into the rear of the radio/cassette player. The radio is similar to a BMW automobile radio of the era.
