Is it a straight recalibration or a complicated process?

Did you do it on the centerstand or while riding on the Road (10 seconds each gear)?

Depending on the model year depends how you calibrate it I am led to believe!

Early models have to be done a specific way

2017 onwards it will tell you when its calibrated and no specific sequence you have to do

On mine late 2016 which is actually a 17 model I reset it and went through the gears on the centre stand I have also reset it and taken it for a ride and just rode it normal and both ways worked and both ways was no different in how it operated afterwards

When you reset it start the bike and take it for a ride or on centre stand its your choice. The gear indicator will flash until its learnt that gear then just move to the next gear until all gears are done. Turn the bike off and restart it and all should work

When I rode it I just rode the bike normal and it took a few miles of up and down the box before I managed to recalibrate all gears as where I live its slow speed 1st 2nd and 3rd gears until I reach open road

It made no difference just riding the bike

I am led to believe the earlier models the gear indicator doesn't flash to tell you it needs to be calibrated or the calibration is taking place but I can't confirm whether that is true or not

I assume the BMW dealer follow the centre stand procedure, otherwise it takes to much time and hassle, but I'm not sure.

well it depends on if you can ride in each gear long enough for it to calibrate on the open road

It doesn't take the 10 seconds like everyone says it does its more like 5 or 6
