Clutch fluid level too high

I've been made aware that the clutch fluid level on my 2012 Camhead is too high. Apparently, this can lead to the clutch eventually slipping. It's a new one on me but the Haynes manual does indeed confirm that "clutch wear will cause the fluid level to rise gradually". (The bike has done ~40K miles). I intend to remove some fluid with a syringe. As a precaution, I've ordered a replacement boot/diaphragm for the reservoir cover at a cost of £12.97. Has anyone else come across this phenomenon and experienced any clutch related issues because of it.

This fella on the RT Facebook page runs his own courier business using a few RT's, what he doesn't know about the older hex heads and TC's isn't worth knowing.

Replacement boot/diaphragm collected from Vertu BMW Motorrad Sunderland and delivered by a very friendly local courier service, many thanks. Didn't use it but worth having in stock as a spare just in case.

With the help of a local specialist, the clutch fluid level was reduced to something like that shown in the above photo. The meniscus being at the top of the word "MIN" on the reservoir. It'll be interesting to see how the level rises as the clutch wears.
