Revs don't always return to idle between gear changes

Hi, I've recently purchased a 2nd hand R1200RT 2017 with 14,000 miles on the clock, it runs fine apart from an annoying problem with the Revs.
they don't always return back to idle in between gear changes, sometimes even blip a couple of times before dropping down.
This can make for a crunchy gear change so I have to be carful and wait for a second or two before selecting the next gear.
I've taken it to a non-BMW bike garage where they have run checks and supposedly reset the throttle bodies,, made to difference.
I guess the next will be to take it to an Official dealer but thought would check to see if anyone else has suffered similar.
Thanks,

Are the revs hanging or is the bike staying at the same RPM when you pull the clutch?
I would be getting it scanned for any error codes first

Is the bike fitted with Shift Assistant Pro.

Sometimes the revs stay at the same amount( around 3000 rpm )and other times actually increase before dropping to where they should be at closed throttle.
The non BMW garage didn't report any fault codes.
Yes it has shift assist

Any issues when riding like surging? or issues if you let off the throttle? does it keep the speed or slow down immediately?
How is it using shift assist?

Well, we know it's not a throttle cable issue

When in neutral and stationary, do the engine revs respond normally to opening and closing the throttle. Does the throttle return to the closed position on its' own when released.

I've tried it when stationery and so far it hasn't played up, it seems to be while riding. It doesn't do it all the time but when it does happen it's really annoying having to wait for the revs to drop with the clutch in so I can select the next gear up. Also seem to mainly happen with gears changes 4th and above.

We now know that the clutch is being used (not shift assist) and on up gear shifts.
Is the bike fitted with cruise control and if so, is it being used when the problem occurs.

It does have Cruise control, obviously with CC engaged I'm in top gear and not changing gear, but yes it happens with or without the CC button pushed across.

I were you, I'd take it to the Stealers. Sometimes, not always, they manage to sort out problems that other garages cannot.

So maybe not stealers then?
