Can someone in charge make a clothing section? I never know where to post these reviews.
Last week i bought what i classed as a cheap(£24.00) pair of winter gloves
I've been testing them in the weather we have been having lately. They state these are thermal and waterproof, yeah OK. They all say this. I've used plenty that are more like a soggy sponge and no warmer than riding barehanded.
These gloves are made by ARMA. I thought were going to be the same but how wrong i was. In the heavy rain for the last couple of days, they have been bone dry. On one 50 trip home after midnight, they kept my hand toasty. The sizing for my Large hands is spot on. I have to admit the sizing is better than my Knox winter gloves. They are made from a Goatskin and Polyester construction and have a breathable HIPORA liner. For the money, they are well worth it.

For winter wouldn't you rather have the longer ones?

I cannot use short gloves even in the summer.

Dear-Skin w/ Gauntlets...unlined...best for all seasons 'cept heat of summer where finger-less dear-skin work nicely.

Highly recommended.

I can't really get on with longer winter. They seem to make my wrists ache. In the summer i usually ware vented leather or Trail riding gloves.
In my youth, before armor was even thought of i did use a pair of fingerless gloves. These were in my London dispatch days. Nice and cool until i came off at 50 mph. I ended up with gravel rash on 6 fingers and 3 nails ripped out. Still have to scares and 2 of my nails didn't grow back properly.

Gloves for safety need:

1. The ring and pinky fingers held together, and
2. The knuckles covered by armour, and
3. The palm covered in hard plastic to allow slip on contact with asphalt, and
4. To remain tightly attached to your hand when pulling hard on all the fingers to imitate friction with the road in a crash.

The Alpine Stars pictured below cost approximately AU$165 (£90, US$105) have all but requirement number (3).
