Bimmer and Beamer guy in Wash DC area

Good evening all - I'm Tom, a long time Bimmer guy (20yrs and counting) and I just picked up my first Beamer - an ebony metallic '16 R1200RT with just under 18k miles.
I've been riding for 5 years, having just sold my first bike a few months ago ('16 Kawasaki Vulcan S). The Vulcan was a great bike to learn on, and I even took it on my first long motorcycle trip last fall. I rode from MD to FL over 4 days. I really enjoyed the trip, but I knew I wanted something a bit more comfortable and better suited for touring. As a short guy, I never thought I could ride touring bikes, but after throwing a leg over a R1250RT with a low seat, I was pleasantly surprised. I started shopping for a '14-'18 R1200RT, and bought my bike last weekend from a local dealership.
I'm in Gaithersburg, MD - a Washington DC suburb, and I live far enough away from the city that I have a lot of fun back roads near my home. I'm looking forward to mind-clearing weekend rides and longer trips up and down the east coast in '23.
In addition to motorcycling, I also do some amateur car racing (24 hrs of LeMons, Champcar, Lucky Dog, AER, WRL), and I did my first One Lap of America event this year.
