BMW R1200RT/R1250RT Forum

Has anyone bought a set of these, and what do you think of them? They are hideously expensive but will, I hope, resolve the problem on the clutch biting point being just that little bit far out for my hands, or more accurately my arthritic middle and ring finger… old age strikes!

I’m aware of the adjustment that can be made via the little screw thingy, but not enough.

Wunderlich is saying this -

Vario Levers represent a revolution in ergonomics, functionality and safety. In addition to allowing adjustable reach, they are also adjustable in length. These levers allow precise adjustment to exactly suit the needs of the rider in various situations and additionally, really look great. Adjusted all the way in, the levers are about 1/2 inch closer to the grip however it actually feels like more because the shape of the lever is more parallel to the handlebar than the stock lever.

Snake oil? I don't know...

I have exactly the same issue

A mate has the levers on his 800gs and rates them but that doesn't mean they are any good for the RT!

Crawling through the internet the better known option appears to be Pazzo levers from Speng Engineering @ £160

I have left a message with ASV in the US as I’ve used their levers before and been very happy with them, they do have the advantage of thumb wheel adjustment instead of 6 predetermined settings.
They are of course more expensive @ £300

I'm thinking of getting these,nice that you can build your own colour design and not stupidly expensive either.Might get number 1 son to get them as a Christmas present.

Arrived today and they are top quality. Will look good on the bike and they gave me some nice stickers






And the wife jumped in and has got them as one of my Christmas presents, will be a suprise on the 25th

It would be nice to know how much closer you can get the clutch bite point closer to the bars compared to stock

Well, got the levers a couple of days ago so now they’re fitted and I went out yesterday.

I achieved my aim, because of the shape and adjustment the clutch lever now starts its bite earlier, just off the bars and is fully extended within the reach of my hands.

There was one problem in that I had Grip Puppies fitted and I wasn’t able to restart in first gear, but after removing them the problem was resolved.

Thinking logically, because of their thickness the GP’s will shorten your hand reach on the clutch as they form another layer pushing your hands further away from the bars, so the removal will improve your reach in any case.

The levers are quality no doubt, and damn pricey, but they worked

Which levers did you go for in the end.

I bought the Wunderlich ones, so it’s bread and water until next payday!
