New here…Hi
Bought a 49l top case (old style ie no brake light) on ebay with lock but no key. Guy px the bike and keys no longer available.
Drilled the lock not much luck. Cylinder barrel stuck in place. Trying to get to the wafers holding in place so I can press to release. Struggling.
If i remove the plastic liner (inner) does anybody know if i can get access to the back of the cylinder? I have to remove the plastic 10mm coin style bung and need to see if i can get a long thin metal prod in there…
If i gradually increase the diameter of the drill bit would this eventually work/drill out the cylinder?
Or other help/options appreciated if you have done this?

Re: Top case lock
Hi and welcome to the forum
I don't think you can get access to the lock from the rear!
I can't say I took much notice though when I had mine apart
I don't think drilling the lock will help you as you have to make all the wafers line up then press the last one through a hole in the bottom of the case

Re: Top case lock
There's some video's on YouTube on drilling the locks out of the top case, they give the diameter of the drill bit and depth you need to drill. I did mine in about 30 seconds.. There's also video's on using the lock removal tool (paper clip) which is also quite easy once you get the knack of it.
The GS 'is' the better bike :-)
