BMW R1200RT/R1250RT Forum

Somewhat dumb question, but... I went to mount my license tag on my new RT, and there are no screws anywhere to be found. Can anyone tell me what size screws I need to go buy?

Does the rear of the bike/license plate holder look like this one.

In the UK, the numer plate screws are typically M6 x 20mm.

Hey from Rocket City, not sure what dealer you purchased from (or frequent) but they should have given you a couple. If not, I would swing by and ask for some. The previous dealer I used literally had a bucket of the reflective screws on the parts counter, assuming you have the cheap metal bracket for a US MC plate.

I have the blue reflective screws on the cheapie metal bracket on me 09' RT-P

Thanks for the replies. The back of the bike does look like the picture David posted. Short term I've attached the plate with black zip ties. The dealer typically has an advertisement plate they put on the bikes. They were unboxing and prepping the bike while I was waiting, so they didn't put one on. When I take it in for the first service I'll get some proper mounting screws.
