Took a chance and bought a rider's footpeg lowing kit from Aliexpress. The cost with the discount coupon was £35.00 with a 15 day delivery, Came in 10 days.
They look well made and may be made from Billet Alloy as i can see tooling marks. The kit comes with lots of Allen bolts, washers, and new cotter pins.
For my 2007 RT, i had loads of bolts, washers,s etc left over. The leftover i guess are for the 2010 to 2013 models. They drop the pegs by 30mm.
As for strength. I put my full weight(16.5St) on each peg once they were fitted and jumped up and down. They passed that test
This kit came with the Usual Wunderlich destructions. The Wunderlich name and logo blanked out.
Easy-fitted within an hour and with a quick ride out found i don't need to adjust the gear and brake levers.

Do you feel that this lowering kit helps?

I'm 6'2" and even with RT with seat at highest position I start to feel my hips and knees after a while. And I have no problems otherwise with either.

If a 30 mm drop really helps - and if they do not drag in turns - then that might be worth considering.

I'm an inch taller than you and whilst I've not ridden the bike a great distance(accident)I found the position way better.I also have a raised seat which helps with the angle.

Thanks.

Something to consider. But there is no way I would spend almost 300,- for a Wunderlich kit. Maybe something from the East if the quality is good.

Which item did you get, if you don't mind me asking? Could you by any chance give a link as I'm quite unfamiliar with this Alithingy?

In the icy weather, we have in the UK at the moment, i don't feel like trying to scratch the pegs. I've tried to in warmer days and didn't touch the pegs on tight turns.
Haven't really had the time for a 1hr plus ride to test the set up due to the above. But by just sitting on the bike and a ride around the block, my legs seem in a better position. I too get hip lock on long rides so fingers crossed these will work.

Thanks, I'll have a look at Aliexpress - will be my first time. Who knows, might find the hand guards from there too.

Bah! There was no Paypal option but i ordered those today anyway.

I'm about 250 lbs on a good day so if they take my old bones (heavy) they take anything.

Am short, fat, and hairy 240lbs so you shouldn't have any problem. Perhaps it's a country thing but on the check out there was PayPal.
