I’m finding various comments on the web regarding the max power draw for the power ports on the RT (2019 1250).
My initial plan was to try and add some paint protection to the rear grab rails as my wife does scuff them with her boots getting on. She also suffers cold hands so I thought I’d fit those wrap around Oxford heated grips but I’m not sure on the power needed to run them ?.
Also reviews say the Oxford are rubbish being either cold of burning your hands !.

Does anyone know for sure the max you can draw from the rear power port and if there’s a better alternative to the Oxford wrap arounds ?.

My wife doesn’t want heated gloves… I guess that would mean being attached to the bike with a cable ?, and she has tiny hands

I believe it's 10 amps overall over the 2 sockets.

5 for the front/5 for the rear. You could always wire directly to the battery. I have a friend that bought a pair of cheap wrap around heated grips.
To use them on the grab handles he suggested that to first wrap the handles with tin foil. To stop the heat from dissipating into the plastic. After fitting the heated element he covered them in tennis bat tape.

As above 10amp between both sockets or 10amps for one socket.my gerbing draws 6.5 and ran fine from one socket.

These 3-Finger gloves will probably be the warmest, sizes go down to glove size 5 - 3XS.

Thanks for the links, she really doesn’t like the idea of heated gloves , my life will be easier if I find another way .

Would it be easier to get a new wife??
