23/04/23 The Northern Monkeys Meet
Where: Tim's Cafe, Thorp Arch Retail Park, Wetherby LS23 7FE
https://www.google.com/maps/place/Tim's ... 2F1wbfzx_h
When: 23/04/2023 Time TBA
There has been some discussion in this thread viewtopic.php?t=6248 but nothing definite has been decided
DECISION MADE!
Going by the votes on the poll
The plan is to meet up at Tims Cafe for an 11AM departure so you can get there whatever time you like if you want a breakfast or brew before hand
Then ride to Viking Way Café Bar, The Old boathouse, Waterside Rd, Barton-upon-Humber DN18 5BD for around 1-1:30 ish then from there everyone can make their own way home etc
Please ensure you have enough fuel to get to the end point to avoid any delays along the route
I don't mind supplying a route if everyone is happy with that but don't blame me if its crap
I have locked the other thread to save any confusion so feel free to discuss it here
All this is weather dependant for me

Michael and myself will be at Tim's Cafe for 9:30/10:00am for breakfast and ready for the 11:00am departure
The GS 'is' the better bike :-)

I've spoken to Markus, both he and I would like to do Option 1. I've voted but Markus isn't a forum member therefore can't, so please count my vote +1, thank you.

Re: 23/04/23 The Northern Monkeys Meet
Due to continuing knee problems, I might meet at Wetherby then just go motorway to Barton. This will be less stop /start and reduced pressure on knee/Cartlidge. Alternatively, if knees are not up to it, will just meet at Barton for a drink. Worst case scenario I will drive in comfort to Barton!

First one to Barton gets the drinks in. It would be good to see you Chris, even if it is just for a drink at Barton.

I'm thinking I may do the same as my namesake and just have a ride up to Barton for a catch up. I've done enough miles slugging up and down motorways/dual carriageways even though my little VStrom does it admirably well. Be good to see familiar faces again though.
Chris

Re: 23/04/23 The Northern Monkeys Meet
Thanks to @David. for spotting it I have changed end location in Barton as it was suggested to meet at Viking Way Café Bar due to better parking etc
I have updated the info above to reflect this and updated the routes too

Re: 23/04/23 The Northern Monkeys Meet
Has the route planner got some foreign blood in them, as every roundabout has route going the wrong way around them. Today it took me 5 minutes to reverse paddle my bike out of the garage before I gave up and pushed it out-can't wait for my next knee op!
