Just joined with a problem. Just got back from 1000 mi trip and washed the bugs off this morning. Used gentle spray to rinse off. Bike won't start. Check engine light is on. I have keyless ignition and display lights up but the gear # doesn't display. Start button doesn't work. Lights come on, windshield raises, etc. I tried both keys - my regular key fob and the emergency key. I tried moving shift lever while I hold clutch and still no gear display. Both keys worked to light up the display but cannot crank the engine. Never had this before.

Have you tried to start it with the clutch pulled in and the side stand up?

It sounds like an issue with the gear position sensor I would chase the wiring and see if there is a wiring connector that may have water in
