Summer has certainly arrived in England (at least for this week) and I've been thinking about attire for keeping cool and at least relatively safe. Normally I'd ride in a Dainese mesh jacket and leather jeans. However, I've been thinking about getting mesh trousers or aramid fibre type jeans instead. I may even be tempted into short boots...
I'd welcome any thoughts on and experiences with any lighter, summer appropriate clobber, particularly with motorcycle jeans (I'm not sure they look cooler than leather ones, to be honest).

Use Rukka forsair suit 2nd hand from auction site. Really love it as get to hot otherwise. Do use Rokker jeans as well which are great and look and feel better but forsair trousers noticably cooler. ive always suffered in heat.

I've just had a look at the Rukka Forsair - very nice bit of kit. I just need someone in my size to put one up on that auction site...

We’re currently in Italy where, amid torrential rain and thunderstorms, temperatures are around 32c.
We use the Klim Marrakesh suits, beautifully comfortable and more protective than the Rukka Forsair but not quite as cool… the balance between the two is a personal choice of course. I also wear Forsair gloves

I've been wearing an Oxford Dakar mesh jacket, it has a removeable Dry2Dry liner, the jacket is AA rated. Also wear Roadskin jeans, single layer kevlar/arimid construction.

This time of year i wear an Icon mesh AF jacket.D3 armor as standard. Air flow is Brilliant. One problem is it is only available in the USA. The cost is about £120 GBP plus import duties around £170 total. Comes in many colours. Just found Motoin sells them.

For trousers, Oxford sells a pair of mesh Arizona Air trousers for £99.00. Meant to be quite good.

We arrived in Chianciano Terme (#7) last night and travelling down to visit the Herculanum site today before catching the ferry from Bari to Igoumenitsa on 30/6. We’ve then got a couple of weeks in Greece returning via Ancona and home by early July. It’ll be around 4.000 miles in total.
Unfortunately the weather’s been very damp with a number of thunderstorms and torrential rain through France and Italy, we got caught by a flash rainstorm on a motorway stoppage yesterday and were thoroughly soaked before we could get our rain gear on but it’s all part of touring!
This is the trip down

Today has been the first dry sunny day since we rode off the Eurotunnel last Sunday.
We’re off on the 19.30 ferry to Greece tomorrow, arriving at 0630 on Sunday where I sincerely hope our Klim mesh suits will be put to the test!

Sorry to say Doc, that makes me feel better!
We visited the Herculaneum site yesterday in brilliant sunshine, and we’re now aboard the ferry waiting to cast off for Greece arriving at 06.30 tomorrow. The forecast for the next week is fine and dry, so hopefully I’ll get a chance to de-ming the bike ‘cos it’s absolutely filthy!
