BROKEN DOWN+2

A couple of weeks ago I made an entry BROKEN DOWN where the engine just stopped and I'd lost ignition lights. Thanks to all that gave advice and the winner is DAVID who correctly gave the stop /start button as a posible cause. had bike looked at and they replaced the switch which without labour charges cost £146. DAVID, although I suspected you were possibly right apart from operating the switch a million times there was still no life. Having been given the old switch back, even if I'd taken it off it appears that it would be very difficult to test as on the back of the switch is just a socket hole where a wiring plug would fit in onto 5 or 6 small pins for the stop start and 2 other switches. With clear access to these pins you might beable to find which pins are the stop/start switch and with a multimeter test it but they are set deep into the socket that would not be possible or very very fiddly. Anyway bike fixed and I'm back on the road yippee.
