Hi there,
This weekend I bought a R1200RT from 2018.
The 11th of November I can collect her from the dealer. It ran 52000 km and looks and feels brand new.
So happy with it ...
I owned a r1200gs until 8 weeks ago when I totalled it in a small incident. Broke a bone in my hand as well. Still a bit of a stiff hand/wist, but I'm able to use it completely again.
Rode 11000km a year 80% commuting, but I love riding it to work and back. Every ride feels like a holiday.
Before the GS I didn't own a bike for 15y. I had a R1150R (in 2003?) for a couple of years, which I rode 20.000km a year with. Before that a Kawasaki zzr600 (in 1999) and a Honda VF750F (in 1996).
I loved the GS a lot, but commuting all year round in the Netherlands.. a RT makes more sense to me. Plus.. it is a passion, so next to the fact it makes sense to me.... I love the looks of the bike, which is even more important than if it makes sense
Can't wait till I can pick her up.
