Hi all,
My 2010RT can toggle through Normal, Comfort and Sport OK via the ESA button on the left hand switch gear. But when trying to adjust the spring preload (one up, two up and two up with luggage) it’s just stuck on the 1 helmet symbol (one up).I’m doing it in neutral with the engine running while I’m stationary.
Can anyone help please? I’ve read potential issues with the left hand switch gear, loose sensor. I’m not sure how to diagnose the issue or what might be causing it. The thought of taking it to BMW for new suspension isn’t something I can afford sadly.
Many thanks for your support

It could be an issue with the preload part of the ESA on the rear shock, it's not odd for it to eventually go bad. My RT had the shock replaced/rebuilt and the preload is now manual with the dampening still connected/controlled by ESA.

I bought a low mileage 11plate RT from an indi recently.
I had similar issues, in that I couldn't get the preload to change, either on the display nor any movement detected from the shock.
Turns out shock was fine, it just needed recalibrating which a BMW dealer did. Cause was bike had been sat with flat battery for ages and the system had lost its settings.
Don't know whether you can do this yourself with a gs911.

Hi,
You can recalibrate with a GS911 or the Moto Scan app and an ODB reader.
