So i have jusy been out to the garage to try the sat nav on the bike.
I started the bike up and the Emissions warning light was on ( orange engine).
Would it just go like this without any warning and without the bike being used.
I have started it up every other day or 3, since i've had the bike.
The last exhaust was changed last year, 3,150 miles ago.
When the bike is started you can hear the change in sound like the flapper is still working.
So if it is the flappy valve going faulty, and i fit a Healtech Exhaust Servo Eliminator Module, Will i also need to get the fault code removed so the light goes out.

Are there any other reasons why the orange engine light would come on. The are no other warning lights, just the orange outline of the engine.

Just removed the plastic cover that goes over the outside of the flap and its still working ok.
Looks like i need to buy a GS-911.

Alternative to GS911 is the (German made) Motoscan app that I use, in conjunction with a bluetooth dongle. There's a free version but to do code clearing, set service date, program TPMS sensor etc you have to pay a modest subscription. I have the highest level lifetime one and recall paying maybe $90 for that a couple of years ago and so far it's done everything I needed it to.

Not a good idea to start the bike and just run it for a few minutes it encourages condensation in the engine casing resulting in water in your oil.
If you are going to start your bike give it a run to get warmed through

So i've now bought a GS-911 USB.
The Enthusiast version which is limited to 10 VINs.
Don't mind spending the money as its another tool for my workshop .

I got to thinking and changed my mind about the GS-911 USB. I thought that if i got the GS-911 WIFI (£80 more) i can keep it with me when i'm out on the bike and pair my phone with it.
If there is a problem and a warning light comes on, I can check for the fault to see if i need to call out the AA to get me home or not.
Yes its a lot of money at £348.50 posted. But the piece of mind its priceless when away from home.

I've spent about £1400 in total. But most of that was my choice.
I don't mind as i think i got the 1250RT at a good price anyway.

So my GS-911 WIFI came this morning.
Once i sussed it out, what a good bit of kit it is.
So i had a couple of communication errors and a rear lambda sensor fault.
So i cleared all the faults codes from the system and tried it again.
Just the lambda fault was left, so i removed the sensor from the exhaust.
The first thing i noticed, was the wires were all twisted up.
So i gave the sensor a clear and sorted the wires out.
When i refitted the lambda i made sure not to twist the wires.
Once refitted i started the bike up and i let it run to get the exhaust hot.
I then rechecked for any faults and there was none.
Will keep an eye on it as its a new to me bike, and i'm going to be messing about with it adding bits.
