Anybody use them? I read about them on the UKGSER site where plenty use then on their travels, so I thought I'd give them a go.

One day later and a set of Amazons finest hit my doormat, and were promptly requisitioned by my wife as she's off skiing shortly and they will hopefully allow her to take a smaller case... it'll still weigh the same of course, but it'll be smaller!

Initial impressions - Sturdy zips, and the cubes can certainly be well compressed to about half the normal size, although there's obviously a bulgy bit in the middle (not unlike many of us). I chose these because they were the best fit for the pannier bag liners, and come in as 1 large size and 2 smaller, about half of the large one... Oh, and they were inexpensive at about £22!

On my bike tours, i take the minimum kit with me so no need for this type of bag. My son who travels by plane a good few times a year swears by them. If there are 2 or more travelling with him. The only 2 drawbacks he finds is you have to pack very carefully to avoid creases in the clothes and asking to use a Hoover to compress the bags again can be a pain. He is now thinking of buying a tiny sucker that plugs into a socket.

These aren’t vacuum bags Doc, they’re compression bags.

So fit as much as the bags will reasonably hold then sit/kneel on them to squash them as flat as possible, then do up the 2nd set of zips.
Job done!

I use them all the time, really good in my opinion, never had any problems with creases.

Does it compress a kitchen sink? the wife likes to take this with us on the bike

It would be better if it would compress the wife and stick her in the pannier. I can dream

These were in a set of three and fit (as shown) into the pannier liner bag quite nicely, so we bought two sets in different colours to easily differentiate between his and hers.
On one trip many years ago I used vacuum bags, absolutely great at reducing the size of the clothing packs and we found we could get far more into a pannier.
The downside was the increase in overall pannier weight, and that a couple of them developed a leak after a week or two, making the pannier lid a real pain to close.

I am going to order a couple of sets and see how it goes!

Use them all the time I travel quite a bit for work helps keep everything neat and tidy and for overnight I can manage with just a wheeled briefcase.
