Yep, 2014 and early 2015. We had a stator replaced on a 2014 RT, £2400 at mates rates 4 years ago.

My 1200rt was built in june 2014 according to the OEM catalogue. According to some reports the new design stators were fitted after early 2014 .
I imagine BMW would use up stock of the early rotors until they ran out, so I presume my bike has not got the later unit.
Would BMW guarantee which unit is in my bike? unlikely, so it is a ticking time bomb.
It would be nice to know the average life span of the early units against the new ones.

Dodgy stators, final drives , flapper valves, left switch gear issues, we must really love our bikes to put up with with poor reliability.
Of course only a very few suffer , but BMW should be held responsible instead of owners having to pay.

The issue with the stators wasn't recognised until early 2015, that is why quite a lot of 2015 bikes will also have the original stators. It doesn't seem to be a mileage thing, the bike we had done was a RTp and the issue started around the 40k mark. My own bike which was a 2014 was traded at 40k in 2019 and was still fine. A friend of mine has a 2015 bike with about 20k on the clock and his bike is exhibiting stator problems.

Once BMW fitted the new designed stators, I haven't heard of any failures regardless of mileage. Also have had a LC RT since 2014 and run a fleet of them since 2016 and we have never had a switch failure.

All bikes have had several sets of headers though to fix the exhaust valve. We have also never had a shaft failure although our fleet bikes now all have new shafts.
