Does anyone know if the new BMW navigator fits on a 2020 or before 1250RT.
From what I’ve seen on YouTube it would appear not. The next question would have to be, do I therefore buy a Zumo XT instead?

No it doesn't fit! its too big to go in to the aperture
The Zumo XT can be made to fit with the 3DAM adaptor as I did here https://www.zumouserforums.co.uk/viewtopic.php?t=1318
This clips in to the BMW prep mount and takes power from it to the Zumo fitting and removal is a breeze although it is a little bit pricey
Some people remove the navigator mount and add some long bolts and spacers to fit the Zumo but its not for me! its harder to get in to remove the Zumo and most of the time you will need to carry a tool to get in behind it to unclip it! far too much faffing for me! Some people say its a security feature making it hard for thieves but I don't leave the zumo on the bike!
Or if you want you can use a mobile phone and you could use the blackbox embedded WunderLinq viewtopic.php?t=7494
You can then use certain controls on the bike to operate the phone which is also configurable to some degree
Plenty of options just decide what is the best way for yourself

Re: New BMW connected navigation
Thanks for the info.
Lots of food for thought.
I’m pleased I didn’t buy one. Might go for plan B, garmin XT with the 3DAM adapter.
The RT seems to be the poor relation of BMW. You would have thought they would have a mount available and open up a wider market for the new navigator.

Re: New BMW connected navigation
After looking through lots of reviews etc on YouTube and the wider internet I'm wondering if the company that makes the 3DAM adapter for the Garnam XT will be making a similar kit for the new BMW connected navigator. Does anyone have any info or contact details for the company. I think this could be a nice solution.

Re: New BMW connected navigation
I emailed 3DAM earlier and received a reply within a few hour.
They say “ Hello, no a we have suitable for the new bmw navigators it is not expected the development of a specific adaptor as we are reading about problems also with the new navigator”.
I think this is no to the question posed “are you developing an adapter for the new BMW connected navigator for pre TFT 1250RT
So I think it’s going to be Garmin XT2 and 3DAM with probably the Wunderlich locking kit for me.
