Haynes manual 2017 r1200rt?

The Haynes manual seems to stop at 2016. Is that close enough? I just purchase my first BMW (an Authorities USA bike). When they pulled the police lights from it, they just used side cutters. Has a couple of warning lights and simple things like the horn don't work ( I suspect it doesn't have one, https://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/showpa ... Id=61_3065 ). I don't know anything about the canbus. There is lots to learn to be able to understand what I have on my hands, a blessing or a beast.
