BMW R1200RT/R1250RT Forum

Just ordered a blue 2024 R1250RT Sport from a dealer in Cincinnati. Hoping to get her by Memorial Day.... we shall see. This is my first BMW bike (have been all Honda the past 40 years!) and hoping I don't regret changing manufacturers since my Hondas have all been absolutely bulletproof reliable. My current bike is a 1993 (yes, 31 year old...) ST1100 that I still love, but is getting hard to get parts for. SO decided to look around for a new ride. I do long rides which end up with twisty roads so wanted something both comfortable on the way there, and then pretty agile when I finally get to the good stuff. Did short rides on the K16, Wing, and RT and the RT seemed like the best fit for what I was looking for.

Planning to troll this site for nuggets of knowledge as I wait for my bike.
