Main Stand

Post by Sullivj »

Got my main stand back from the Powder coasters.

In an attempt to stop the road rash, I have added some plastic conduit to the cross bar. I’ve also stuck some rubber to the base of the stand to hopefully help there too.

I must be cheap, I can't help but think I'd just have painted that by hand with some black gloss Hummerite after a half decent clean, it's under the bike and no one sees it, it's only going to get covered in crap again, seems like a lot of work and money - did I mention I'm cheap

Fortunately for me, the Powder Coater didn't charge as I recently put a big job his way for my office.

I’d sprayed Hammerite on the stand quite regularly over the years, but it doesn’t last as well as the powdercoating. Cost-wise the powder coat was roughly the equivalent of 2 cans of Hammerite.
