Conversion of BMW R1200 RTP to two seater

Post by Willemway »

Hi all! I have been struggling with the conversion of my 2015 R1200 RT k52 ex police bike. I used this forum but it only contained information on the tranfsormation of the pre 2013 versions.

I have made a video, and didn't do a perfect job, but at least the information is now gathered online somewhere for all the folks that will ever try to do this. I'm sharing it here just to make it more findable, as it doesn't come up on YouTube too easily. Happy to hear comments from other folks who did the same conversion on the same k52 version.

Interesting. Nice job. Generally I think people avoid this due to the cost of the parts required.
I saw a kit at a US dealer that was in the thousands. That allowed use of the car seat and also accommodated the standard side cases.

I like the small police cases. Although they are too small for trips. Since you dont have the radio box anymore, you could strap a duffel bag on the rear seat. Or maybe even add a top case.
