Nordkapp planning - advice needed!

Hi Guys

Me and my mate are thinking of touring Norway next year [from the UK] with the aim of reaching Nordkapp. We know it is a long way! We would welcome any tips / advice from riders who have already done this please. Things we are interested in include, posssible route - without just slamming for day upon day on motorways (although we understand some may be needed just to cover some ground); must see places; possible west coast route either up there or back including the use / cost / frequency of ferries to cross fjords (and whether we need to book in advance or can just rock up); accommodation at budget prices (again do we need to book in advance?); riding in Norway; best route to get in to Scandanavia to do this etc; best time of year for the trip and how much time to allow for this.

All tips and tricks greatly appreciated.
