After a a 7 day 1700 mile trip to France and averaging ~ 2-300 miles per day. I find my back aches between the shoulders and my bum goes numb.
I'm 5' 7" and 68kg with a 32" inseam.
My 19 plate RT has the lowered OEM front seat.
Can anyone recommend a comfortable gell pad seat cover? I don't want the expense of an aftermarket seat as I might not keep the bike that long.

Have you tried the standard seat? I’m 5’8” with a 30” inseam and rode a new RT for 800 miles in Italy in
June. Did that as basically a long test ride. I was pleasantly surprised that neither my wife or I ever got a sore butt during 200-300km days. I was also totally comfortable with the seat height

I've just had the same experience with my - admittedly much older - bike. I took it away for the first time this summer and found exactly the same issues - pain between the shoulder and in the back side. I rarely do more than 300-400 miles in a day but found that I was uncomfortable in half that distance.
On my old Buell I was always frustrated by having to constantly stop to refuel before I really wanted to - on the RT I had to get off after half a tank.

It's interesting because it feels so comfy while being used as my daily hack.

Too much money for your situation from what you have said, but I got a Sargent seat and raised the bars and lowered the foot pegs, made the bike so much more comfortable for me, although am a fair bit larger than you and still use a sheepskin for extra milage

I use an AirRider blow up pad. Works really well.

I've ordered the Air Rider medium. It was a choice between that and the SW Motech pad. The Air Rider is UK made so won the deal,

I find a cheap Aliexpress mesh seat cover sorted my bum burn. If your getting pain between the shoulders, you need to fit handle bar raisers. Also fit peg lowering kit. All these soured my pains out. The mesh cover is a godsend. Not only does it allow air to move around my bum but as it is slightly springy and moves in a controlled manner to comfort your cheeks. It also relaxes pressure on your coccyx.
The handlebar raiser and peg lowing kit give me a pain free ride on longer trips.
You can buy all of the above from Aliexpress. They are as good as the parts that cost 3x more. Only one word of advice I will give is on the handlebar raisers. Use bolts of a know quality. As the ones that come with the kit as a bit soft and can strip the thread easy.
