How resistant are the 2014 - 2018 RT's to overheating? I'm looking at a 2017 or 2018 but need to have a bike that I can be stuck in a lengthy traffic jam on the interstate in 95+ F degree temps. My 2013 RT will reach critical temps in these conditions. Thanks!

Living in the Houston, Texas area, I see lots of hot weather and Traffic
I find the back-up fan on my 17RT very effective. I only wish it would work to cool me off ;)

Aftermarket additional fans are available for not a lot of money, perhaps worth considering for peace of mind as it's a small cost compared to the bike it's self?

Am I right in thinking there’s only a fan on one rad?

"It's a pressurized system with two radiators and if BMW says that's what it's designed for, believe 'em."

"I live in one of the hottest places in the US where our summer temps are generally over 110 degrees.

My R1250RS has not overheated at any time in those temps. I do not see that problem to ever be an issue with the liquid cooled engines."

Camhead RTP's have a fan fitted behind the oil cooler. AFAIK, this can be retro-fitted.

Now there’s a thought… temperatures on our trips can get up to the mid 40’s, perhaps this may be a suitable mod.
