adding alarm and central locking to 2016 R1200RT

I bought my 2016 a few years ago (used) and wish it had central locking. Possibly the alarm. In the harness, the central locking and alarm go together.
I talked with a few dealers who just said not interested. The service guy at one location said he was intrigued so he looked up all the parts I would need and said he thought it might be doable, but they would not attempt it since they could not guarantee it would work and did not want to charge a ton of money that they could not promise would work. So I have attempted the install and need some guidance, hopefully from someone who knows something about this.

I don't care about the front cubbies locking. Mainly just the side panniers and possibly the trunk.
I bought the add-on wiring harness that C/L and the alarm need, and installed it (approx $200 US). I bought the pannier activators and installed them (about $30 ea from bike junkyard). I bought a handlebar control with the locking button and installed that ($100 from ebay).

#1. I think I have to also have the alarm module for the central locking to work. Does anyone know for sure?
#2. There are "used" alarm modules in the salvage market for about $120 compared to $500 from BMW. Can a used one be used on a bike other than what it was originally activated on? I have heard yes, I have heard no. No one seems to know for sure.
#3. Who can activate this once all hooked up? I have heard the GS911 can do it (I have one), I have heard only dealers can do it, I have heard dealers can't do it and I need to find someone who "hacks" BMW electronics for flashes, etc.

If I can figure this out, I will be more than happy to document my process so that others can see about doing the same if they are interested. It might be I get this done for $500 if a used alarm can work. But I am thinking it will end up being closer to $1000.

Thoughts?

If you have to wait for a reply, it means that most of the models sold had Central Locking as standard. So yours is quite a rare machine.

In the UK your machine would have an "SE" designation, whereas the "LE" (Luxury Edition) was more popular.

Good luck.

yes, I know it is not an easy question. I have gotten all the easy ones answered already. But I figure there is someone out there who has some knowledge about this.
